  • Recommendation:

    BE IT RESOLVED THAT the minutes from the Regular Council meeting held February 14, 2022 be approved as presented and circulated.

WHEREAS International Women’s Day is celebrated globally on March 8th, a request is made to proclaim the week of March 7 to 11th , with the aim of taking the time to reflect on the contributions women have made and continue to make, to make their communities and countries better places in which to live, work and grow; and
 
WHEREAS International Women’s Day and Week is a time to uphold women’s achievements, recognize challenges, focus greater attention on women’s rights and gender equality, encourage and mobilize all people to do their part to bring about positive change; and
 
WHEREAS International Women’s Day and Week is a time to envision a world where each woman and girl can exercise her choices, such as participating in politics, getting an education, having an income, and living in societies free from violence and discrimination.


THEREFORE, I, Wade Mills, Mayor of the Town of Shelburne, do hereby proclaim the week of March 7th to 11th 2022 to be “International Women’s Week” in the Town of Shelburne.

  • Recommendation:

    BE IT RESOLVED THAT Council receives report P2022-04 for information;

    AND THAT leave be given for the reading and enacting of By-law #54-2019 being a by-law to enter into a Site Plan Agreement with Southbridge Health Care GP Inc., substantially in the form attached to the by-law, for a parking area and memorial garden at the property known municipally as 104 Robert Street in the Town of Shelburne;

    AND THAT leave be given for the reading and enacting of By-law #49-2019, being a by-law to amend Zoning By-law 38-2007, as amended, by rezoning the lands known municipally as 104 Robert Street and described legally as Lots 1 & 2, Block 29, Registered Plan 15A, Town of Shelburne, from Residential Type Two (R2) Zone to Residential Type Two Exception Two (R2-2) Zone as shown on Schedule “A1” to the By-law.

  • Recommendation:

    BE IT RESOLVED THAT Council receives report P2022-05 for information;

    AND THAT Council approves the request for a variance from the Sign By-law #30-1999 to grant relief from paragraphs (2)(d) of section 4.03 to permit one (1) fascia sign with a maximum sign height of 1.34 metres located at 171 Main Street West, subject to the following:

    1. That a maximum of one (1) fascia sign shall be permitted for the subject property and the proposed fascia sign shall comply with all other requirements of the Sign By-law and a sign permit shall be obtained from the Town of Shelburne; and
    2. That the owner shall obtain a building permit and satisfy the requirements of the County of Dufferin for the proposed sign.
  • Recommendation:

    BE IT RESOLVED THAT Council receives report CAO 2022-02 Dufferin Community Foundation – New Shelburne Community Fund for information;

    AND THAT the contribution by the Town of Shelburne of $1,000 to establish the new Shelburne Community Fund be approved and funded from the municipal grant funding reserve;

    AND THAT leave be given for the reading and enacting of Bylaw #08-2022 being a bylaw to authorize the Town of Shelburne to enter into the Shelburne Community Fund Agreement with The Dufferin Community Foundation to establish a new Shelburne Community Fund.

  • Recommendation:

    BE IT RESOLVED THAT Council receives report FS 2022-04;

    AND THAT Council receives the 2021 Development Charge Schedule as presented and circulated.

  • Recommendation:

    BE IT RESOLVED THAT Council of the Town of Shelburne receives the staff report FS 2022-05 with respect to the December 31st, 2021 Financial Update for information.

  • Recommendation:

    BE IT RESOLVED THAT Council receives staff report FS 2022-06 with respect to the 5 Year Capital Plan 2022-2026;

    AND THAT the 5 Year Capital Plan be adopted by Council; and reviewed annually during budget discussions.

    BE IT RESOLVED THAT Council receives report #LS2022-01 from the Clerk for information;

    AND THAT leave be given for the reading and enacting of By-law #07-2022 being a by-law to amend user fees and charges.

    BE IT RESOLVED THAT leave be given for the reading and enacting of By-law #09-2022 being a by-law to enter into an agreement with the Shelburne Public Library for the purpose of providing library services.
