We would like to begin by respectfully acknowledging that the Town of Shelburne resides within the traditional territory and ancestral lands of the Anishinaabe, including the Ojibway, Potawatomi, Chippewa and the People of the Three Fires Confederacy.


These traditional territories upon which we live, work, play and learn are steeped in rich Indigenous history and traditions. It is with this statement that we declare to honour and respect the past and present connection of Indigenous peoples with this land, its waterways and resources. 

Members of Council are required to state any pecuniary interest in accordance with the Municipal Conflict of Interest Act.

  • Recommendation:

    BE IT RESOLVED THAT the minutes from the Regular Council meeting held February 12, 2024 be approved as presented and circulated.

WHEREAS International Women’s Day is celebrated globally on March 8th, with the aim of taking the time to reflect on the contributions women have made and continue to make, to make their communities and countries better places in which to live, work and grow; and
WHEREAS International Women’s Day is a time to uphold women’s achievements, recognize challenges, focus greater attention on women’s rights and gender equality, encourage and mobilize all people to do their part to bring about positive change; and
WHEREAS International Women’s Day is a time to envision a world where each woman and girl can exercise her choices, such as participating in politics, getting an education, having an income, and living in societies free from violence and discrimination;
THEREFORE, I, Wade Mills, Mayor of the Town of Shelburne, do hereby proclaim March 8, 2024 to be "International Women's Day" in the Town of Shelburne. 

  • Recommendation:

    BE IT RESOLVED THAT Council of the Town of Shelburne receives the report DO2024-02 2023 Schedule 22 Summary Report - Shelburne Drinking Water System dated February 26, 2024, for information purposes.

  • Recommendation:

    BE IT RESOLVED THAT Council receives report FS 2024-03;

    AND THAT Council receives the 2023 Development Charge Schedule as presented and circulated;

    AND THAT Council approves the additional 2023 transfers from DC reserves in the amount of $230,985.85 to assist with funding prior year projects as identified and that the funds be placed in the Water Reserve.

  • Recommendation:

    BE IT RESOLVED THAT Council receives report LS 2024-01 for information;

    AND THAT leave be given for the reading and enacting of Bylaw #08-2024 being a bylaw to amend Animal Control Bylaw #15-2018;

    AND THAT leave be given for the reading and enacting of Bylaw #09-2024 being a bylaw to amend User Fees and Charges Bylaw #70-2023.

  • Recommendation:

    BE IT RESOLVED THAT leave be given for the reading and enacting of By-law #08-2024 being a by-law to enter into an agreement with the Shelburne Public Library for the purpose of providing library services.

  • Recommendation:

    BE IT RESOLVED THAT leave be given for the reading and enacting of By-law #10-2024 being a by-law to amend by-law #18-2023 to appoint municipal committee and board members for the 2022-2026 term of Council. 

  • Recommendation:

    BE IT RESOLVED THAT Council receives the items listed under communications for information. 

  • Recommendation:

    BE IT RESOLVED THAT leave be given for the reading and enacting of By-law #11-2024 regular council meeting held February 26, 2024.
